EMERY SECONDARY SCHOOL

                     LIBRARY PERMISSION SLIP

The library is an important part of our school literacy program. We need student cooperation in maintaining our book collection. Materials are expensive, therefore students are responsible for keeping books in good condition and returning books by due date. Students may check out up to three books for a three-week period. If a book is damaged or lost, library privileges will be suspended until all fees are paid. Late fines will be assessed for overdue books at a daily rate of twenty-five cents.

Library standards are as follows:

  1. The library is a place for quiet study and reading.
  2. The library is a safe place, mentally, physically and verbally.
  3. The library is a place to care for and respect books.
  4. Use of the library is a privilege not a right, all rules must be observed in order to stay in good standing.

Please indicate that you understand the library use policy by signing and returning the permission slip.  We appreciate your assistance in helping your child develop responsibility for school property.

Sincerely,

D. Turner

District Librarian
